Creating conditions for export to Pakistan

April 12, 2022 an online meeting was held with representatives of the Republic of Pakistan to discuss the requirements of the Republic of Pakistan regarding the accreditation of certification bodies for halal products and the possibilities of creating conditions for increasing mutual trade between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Pakistan.

The online event was attended by representatives of the competent structures of the Republic of Pakistan (Department for Standards and Quality Control, Ministry of Science and Technology, State Halal Agency, National Accreditation Council) and the Republic of Belarus (Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Pakistan, Gosstandart, Ministry of Agriculture economy and food, BSCA, accredited body for the certification of halal products LLC "BelHalal").

During the event, the accreditation body presented a presentation on the National Accreditation System of the Republic of Belarus, including the approach used by the BSCA for the purposes of accreditation of the halal certification body (accreditation criteria, accreditation experts, the process of interaction with experts of the Emirates National Accreditation System in terms of Islamic aspects of assessment).

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the exchange of legal acts in the field of accreditation and conformity assessment of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Pakistan in order to establish the level of equivalence of regulatory requirements and continue joint work to determine the best ways to eliminate possible technical barriers to mutual trade between Belarus and Pakistan.
