Activities on the IRSA in Izmir
On February 12-16, 2018 in Izmir, Turkey, a
seminar was held on the basis of
the
Interregional Standardization Association (IRSA) to study the requirements
and practice of applying the international standard ISO/IEC 17024.

The seminar is organized by
the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the aim of harmonizing the
understanding and application of the international standard ISO/IEC 17024:2012
among the member states of the IRSA.
Specialists of standardization
bodies, certification bodies and accreditation bodies of the IRSA member states
took part in the seminar.

In addition to a detailed study of the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17024
standard, the participants of the seminar on February 14, 2018 were given the
opportunity to study the experience of its practical application using the
example of a personnel certification program for the inspection of elevators
developed and applied in Turkey.


On February 15-16, 2018, the third meeting of the Council for Strategy
and Business Development of the IRSA was held.
During the meeting of the
Council, as a result of discussions and exchange of views, the following
decisions were made with respect to:
1) consideration of proposals
for draft new certification schemes for personnel for the period 2018-2020 in
the area of interest;
2) draft scheme for the
certification of personnel in the field of calibration (prepared by the
Republic of Belarus);
3) draft program for the
certification of personnel for the inspection of elevators, etc.
